BASIC BUILDING INFO

The building material that we use on all our products is a laminated aluminum sheet with a polyethylene core. This material will never rust, rot or ever need repainting. The unique core helps insulate from heat and cold.

The material is extremely strong, yet is light in weight. This becomes an important factor when it's time to take your dog box out of your truck, one man can load and unload most models. All dog boxes come with fold down handles on each side for loading and unloading.

The only building materials used are the laminated sheets, aluminum rivets and the outside hardware. There is no wood or plastic used on any dog box. There is a wooden toe board inside blue bird houses for chicks.

All dog boxes have ample ventilation, with vented doors, sides and backs. Vented doors are standard on all dog boxes (optional aluminum bars doors available also). Coon dog model boxes have a slide vent that you can open and close. All other models have vent holes covered with a 4" X 16" aluminum vent (lets air in and keeps water out). Having vented sides, doors and backs allow for cross ventilation to keep your dogs cool in warm weather.

Each door has two bolt latches or one gate latch (quick close). The standard door size is 15"T X 13"W with a rounded top and a squared bottom. Aluminum bar doors are also available for an additional cost, $50 each, and come with a removeable winter inside door cover and a snap for door latch (some dogs learn to stick a paw through and open). Aluminum piano hinges are used on all doors and lids, not in pieces, but a full piece along the door and the back on top storage models. This makes for a much stronger hinge.

All dog boxes with top storage have lockable latches on the lids.

All of our two compartment dog boxes feature a sturdy, vented divider between compartments. The standard truck size dog boxes have ample room for at least two pointer sized dogs in each compartment.

Standard widths of 38" for small trucks and 48" for large trucks. These will work in trucks with bed liners, but it's always a good idea to measure the truck bed between the fender wells before ordering.
